Deutschlandstipendium - 2019/2020 Call for applications

TU Berlin will award Deutschlandstipendium scholarships for the ninth time in the 2019/2020 winter semester. The scholarship is awarded to students with outstanding academic achievements and who have demonstrated their commitment to social issues or have overcome hardship.

The following individuals can apply

  • Regularly enrolled bachelor’s and master’s students who are already enrolled at TU Berlin at the beginning of the funding period, i.e. winter semester 2019/2020, and who are still within the standard period of study
  • New students who have applied to begin their studies at TU Berlin in winter semester 2019/2020 and will start their studies

Doctoral candidates are not eligible for funding.

Application for 2019/2020 has passed

The application deadline for the Deutschlandstipendium at TU Berlin (9th funding year - 2019/20) has passed.

Applications were accepted from 14 June to 15 July 2019.

The portal for applications for the 10th funding year (2020/2021 winter semester and 2021 summer semester) is expected to open during summer 2020.

Deadlines and terms for the application process will be published on this site in 2020.

Selection, criteria, selection committee

Using the selection criteria below pursuant to the criteria stated in the Scholarship Act and Scholarship Ordinance (StipG, StipV) and the TU Berlin Guidelines for the Awarding of the Deutschlandstipendium, the selection committee (one representative per faculty) will select recipients on the basis of the information submitted with complete applications:

  • Outstanding academic performance
  • Particular involvement and success
  • Particular family/biographical challenges

The entire sum of the Deutschlandstipendium is EUR 3,600 for at least one year with monthly disbursements of EUR 300. The scholarship is intended to provide outstanding students with additional financing for their studies for at least 12 months.

NOTE: The principles of the Scholarship Act (StipG) and Scholarship Ordinance (StipVO) and the TU Berlin Guidelines for the Awarding of the Deutschlandstipendium apply.

Earmarked pledges

108 scholarships were awarded for the 8th funding period during 2018/2019. A third of the scholarships are awarded without an earmark. The remaining scholarships can be earmarked for certain degree programs. Students from any degree program at TU Berlin can apply for a Deutschlandstipendium.

In the upcoming 9th funding period from 2019/2010, we expect pledges to be earmarked for the following degree programs (subject to change!):

Architecture, Civil Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Computational Engineering Science, German as a Foreign Language, Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering and Process Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, History and Culture of Science and Technology, Human Factors, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computational Engineering Sciences, Logistics, Food Chemistry, Food Technology, Aeronautics and Astronautics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Engineering Science, Process Energy and Environmental Systems Engineering, Production Engineering, Renewable Energy Systems, Transport Systems, Material Science and Engineering, Business Informatics, Information Systems Management, Industrial Engineering and Management
