„Einfach spenden, doppelt fördern" - The donation campaign run by alumni and friends of TU Berlin sets a new record

A very warm thanks to all our sponsors for 58 scholarships

Now in its third year, the response to the joint fundraising call of the Alumni Team, Society of Friends of the TU Berlin, and TU Berlin Career Service continues to be positive. We are able to award 58 additional Deutschlandstipendien in the 2019/2020 funding year; twenty-three more than in the previous year.

We would like to thank our almost 300 sponsors to date. Your involvement offers dedicated and talented students an opportunity to concentrate on their studies without financial stress. Scholarship holders receive a 300-euro monthly grant from the “Alumni- und Freundefonds” for one year. These scholarships are made possible by the fundraising call, which has raised 104,400 euros this year. As any funds raised are matched by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), this results in a total funding volume of 208,800 euros.

Together we can achieve more

The Deutschlandstipendium provides an opportunity for TU Berlin and donors, whether private individuals, businesses, foundations or associations, to recognize and reward the outstanding achievements of students. The "Einfach spenden, doppelt fördern" program is aimed particularly at alumni and friends of TU Berlin and is a joint initiative of the Alumni Team, the Society of Friends of the TU Berlin e.V. and the Career Service.

"Einfach spenden, doppelt fördern" remains a success story: In both 2017 and 2018, more than 200 sponsors took part in our program, in 2019 even 300. As a result of the commitment shown by the alumni and friends of TU Berlin since 2017, it has been possible to fund significantly more than 100 additional scholarships, awarded to students from a wide range of disciplines.

What our scholarship holders say about the program

Amelie Heimann, Industrial Engineering and Management

"The Deutschlandstipendium at TU Berlin gives me the freedom to devote myself fully to my studies and my volunteer work. At the moment I am volunteering in a project to develop a more conscious approach to food. My scholarship also gives me the freedom to commit to this project.

Being funded by the Deutschlandstipendium gives me the feeling that there is someone who believes in me and shares my joy when my hard work is rewarded.”

Clément Chauvin, Environmental Science and Technology

“I am from France and the financial support provided by the Deutschlandstipendium helped me take up my studies in Berlin. The recognition provided by the scholarship strengthens my motivation to study as well as my commitment to the protection of raw materials.

I very much appreciate the funding I receive and am looking forward to a mutual exchange with all the socially committed scholarship holders and donors within an international context at TU Berlin.”
